Kontera ContentLink ads – another source of income

If you have been reading my posts lately, you would have noticed there are some words which are double underlined. If you were to point your mouse over the words, a cute little box will appear. If you click on the links, you will be brought to the advertiser’s website. These are actually Kontera ContentLink advertisements.

What is a ContentLink

ContentLinks are contextually relevant keywords discovered in real time on a publisher’s web page that are automatically turned into a link to the most relevant and highest paying text ad from one of Kontera’s thousands of advertisers.

Kontera ContentLink advertisements are best used in content websites with articles, user-generated postings, product reviews, blogs, or social networking sites. Kontera’s dynamic contextual analysis lets you serve ContentLinks as soon as new and relevant content is posted.

Therefore, other than Google Adsense, you can have another tool to monetize your website or blog. In fact, Google allows Kontera’s advertisement to co-exist with Adsense in your webpages together. As long as your webpages are written in English and they have more than 50 words, you meet Kontera’s requirement.

Previously, Kontera imposed a rule that your website should have more than 500,000 page impressions per month as a prerequisite. But now Kontera has opened its doors to publishers with smaller traffic levels.

As a Kontera publisher, you will get a Javascript tag to be placed in your website or blog. At any point, you have the ability to perform advanced customization. You have control over the color, placement and number of ContentLinks on a page.

Finally, adding Kontera’s ContentLink advertisements to your webpage is a good source of income revenue if you have substantial and constant traffic coming in every day.

  2. Hi, kelly. Ok about adding kontera contentlink ads. You can log into your Kontera account, http://dc.kontera.com
    1. Look for Kontera “ContentLink Setup” tab
    2. Copy the whole code.
    3. Go to your blog -> Presentation -> Widgets
    4. Paste the whole code into a Text widget.

This was how I did it. But I think Kontera has introduced a Wordpress Plugin. Perhaps you would like to try it too. Here is the link to the instruction.
