Using Pay Per Click to bring in the traffic

Pay per click is one of the way to generate traffic to your website. By bidding for a certain keywords on a pay per click search engine, you are actually paying the search engine owner to deliver targeted traffic to your website. This is definitely a quicker method compare to search engine optimization or bum marketing.

Here, I had written 7 tips on using pay per click.

1. Use quality pay per click search engines that already have a high volume of traffic, such as Google. If the search engine has low traffic, then it is useless to advertise.

2. Know your market. You have to do some research to find out what words and phrases that people are actually using in their searches. An excellent tool to assist in this research is Wordtracker. Wordtracker will quickly help you to decide which key words are truly worth bidding on.

3. Popular keywords can be expensive so choose your keywords with great care. It is best to stay away from keywords that are too general in nature. Try to spot keywords that match almost exactly to what people used to search. This way you will save cost and achieve better result.

4. If you want a lot of traffic to your website try to position yourself in the top three spots. This is because about 80% of the traffic for any key word will go to the top three bids.

5. Think about using a lot of keywords rather than a common few. People search for everything on the internet and those who actually plan on buying something usually search by using phrases. With some effort you can find phrases that are cheap and that will deliver highly targeted traffic, which in turn converts into sales.

6. Do not purely focus on generating traffic. You had to have a good sale page or excellent products and services that will grab eye-balls and entice prospects to open up their wallet.

7. Set up a realistic budget for each search engine. Quality pay per click search engines get a lot of traffic so be prepared for a lot of traffic to your site if you bid on popular key words.
